A broccoli quiche recipe for the brave ones, do not take this special quiche with great taste lightely! - this quiche can easily be served at dinner and will have have the 'oef'-effect* on many.

Hearty man broccoli quiche recipe :
Ingredients:
- 1 cup light cream
- 6 tablespoons butter, divided
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
- 2 teaspoons tamari sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1 pastry for a 9 inch pie
- 1/2 pound ground chuck
- 1 (10 oz) package frozen broccoli or 1 bunch of fresh broccoli, cleaned and cut into pieces
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard

Instructions:
- Melt
2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Whisk
in the flour and cook 3 minutes stirring constantly until
smooth.
- Slowly
stir in the cream.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Continue cooking about 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened
to your liking.

Remove from heat and set aside.

Place 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat.

When the butter has completely melted add the mushrooms
and sauté 2 minutes.

Pour the reserved sauce into the skillet with the mushrooms.

Add the tamari sauce and thyme and stir well to combine.

Continue cooking 5 minutes or until completely heated through.

Remove from heat and set aside.

Place 1 cup of water in a saucepan.

Bring to a rapid boil.

Add the broccoli.

Cover and cook until the broccoli is fork tender about 8
minutes.

Drain the broccoli well and set aside.

Place the ground chuck in a large skillet over medium heat.

Cook meat 10 minutes or until completely brown using a fork
to crumble the meat as it cooks.

Drain well and set aside.

Place 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet used for
browning the meat.

Let the butter melt completely and then add the onions.

Cook the onions in the butter until tender about 5 minutes.

Place the pastry into a 9 inch pie plate and prick the bottom
of the crust with a fork in 5 or 6 places.

Spread the cooked beef into the bottom of the pie crust.

Layer the onions and broccoli on top of the meat.

Sprinkle the cheese over the top.

In a large mixing bowl blend together the eggs, mustard
and the reserved mushroom sauce being sure to stir until
completely combined.

Pour the mixture over the top of the ingredient in the pie
crust.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Bake the quiche for 50 minutes or until firm.

Remove and allow standing 10 minutes before serving.
